Elements 2 Edinburgh

Hi, I'm going to Elements in Edinburgh again this year. I had a very successful exhibition last year and hope to do even better this year, when I expect the event to be even bigger and better than last time.

Elements, established in 2015, was the first ever festival of gold and silver to be held in Scotland. It is a celebration not only of the beauty of precious metals, but of the creative minds and dexterous hands of the craftspeople who create extraordinary objects from these most precious – and fundamental – of our world’s elements.

Goldsmiths Fair 2016 - London

Hi, I'm really excited about going to this prestigious event for the first time. You can see me and a wide selection of my work at Stand 31 during the 2nd week of the Fair.

The Goldsmiths’ Fair is recognised internationally as the premier showcase in the UK for contemporary designer jewellery and silver.  It’s a celebration of the best of British goldsmithing and silversmithing talent and a treasure trove of creativity, design innovation and superb craftsmanship.

Over two weeks, this unique public event draws collectors, design lovers and luxury shoppers to the magnificent Goldsmiths’ Hall to browse the latest collections of the most exciting contemporary design talent in Britain.  Visitors can buy directly from the maker or commission personal one-off pieces to their own specification.

Curated by a panel of experts, Goldsmiths’ Fair features 170 exceptional designer-craftsmen from independent workshops around the UK.  Every item exhibited is hand-made with extraordinary skill and artistry.  Buyers can be assured of the quality of their purchases as all work exhibited is hallmarked to certify its precious metal content.

Inspired 2016 - British Silver Week

I will be exhibiting some of my silversmith pieces at ‘Inspired 2016’. This is the fourth collaborative selling exhibition between the Festival of Silver, the Furniture Makers’ Company and John Higgins Contemporary Silver. The Goldsmiths’ Centre will once again host this impressive exhibition of the UK’s finest silversmiths and bespoke furniture makers.

On display will be the work of 80 of the finest UK silversmiths, including Rod Kelly and Hiroshi Suzuki, as well as the monumental work of Thalen & Thalen from Belgium and the innovative silversmithing of Lasse Baerhing from Denmark. Also showing will be 15 of the UK’s finest bespoke furniture makers including world renowned John Makepeace; and other prominent holders of the Furniture Makers’ Company’s prestigious bespoke Guild Mark, awarded for excellence in design and craftsmanship. Elements Edinburgh

Elements is a 4 day festival of gold and silver in central Edinburgh, incubated by the Incorporation of Goldsmiths and Lyon & Turnbull Fine Art Auctioneers. The festival will comprise an exhibition, a variety of events and a selling fair showcasing some of the UK’s most exquisite work in silver and jewellery.

Telling the story behind the object is proving to be vital in selling work today and this story of the provenance of the pieces for sale will be central to the design of the fair.

Elements will take place at Lyon & Turnbull’s stunning showroom in Edinburgh, and is a key focus in Edinburgh’s “Silver September” season – a month of events celebrating the beauty of precious metals in Scotland’s capital.
